Way back in 2009 Elizabeth Eslami published her short story “Mata Hormigas” in issue #18 of Neon. She was also kind enough to do a short interview about the story and about her work in general, which can be read online here.
Since then she’s gone on to publish a successful debut novel titled Bone Worship, about an Iranian-American woman named Jasmine and her father’s plans to arrange a marriage for her. She has also put together an award-winning short story collection titled Hibernate, which is due to be published by Ohio State University Press in 2014.
You can find out more about either book, and about Elizabeth’s work in general by visiting her website www.elizabetheslami.com.
