NB: Battery Pack is not currently open to submissions of microfiction. Currently we are only seeking chapbook proposals, as outlined below.

In 2017 Neon Books will publish another chapbook-length individual work. We’re currently looking for the right manuscript to develop and publish.

We want something odd, adventurous, and with a hint of the uncanny. We’re looking for a project that is about something specific rather than for general poetry or fiction collections. We’d love to see something that manages to be both bizarre and relevant to the current state of the world. We’d like to see poetry, short stories, novellas, graphic short stories or any other form that you think might be appropriate. You can check out our current catalogue here, but please also feel free to try and surprise us. If you have a project in mind that you think might fit, you can send it along using the form below.

If you have ever supported the press in any way (purchased a book, made a donation, subscribed to Neon), please do go ahead and submit. We’re always thrilled to receive proposals from anyone who is familiar with and supportive of the work we’ve already put out into the world.

If you haven’t yet supported Neon Books, there is a suggested reading fee of £3 (less than the price of a large coffee, or a sandwich) which you can pay by clicking this link. Alternatively you can find all our titles in our store, place a pre-order for the chapbook, or make a donation of any amount.

Whether you choose to support the press or not, all submissions will be considered equally (we mean this), but please – if you are able – do not submit without supporting the press in some way. The engagement of our writers is what makes our chapbook projects possible in the first place.

Once you’ve completed the form below, we’ll get back in touch with you as soon as possible to let you know if we want to hear more about your proposal. Submissions will remain open until at least the end of February 2017, or later in the unlikely event we haven’t found a suitable project by then.
